Main Idea
The people and things around us shape who we become, so we need to choose godly influences and be a godly influence on others.
What We Did in Class
Students used Play-Doh/clay to see how easily something can be shaped by what presses into it. They created objects, pressed items into the clay to leave marks, and mixed colors together to show how influence becomes part of us.
Key Scriptures
Proverbs 27:17 – “As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”
1 Corinthians 15:33 – “Bad company corrupts good character.”
Matthew 5:14–16 – “You are the light of the world…”
Romans 12:2 – “Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind.”
Key Takeaways
Influence leaves a mark on our lives.
What we allow into our lives shapes our thoughts, attitudes, and actions.
Influence blends into who we are over time.
Students are not only influenced by others, but they also influence those around them.
God can reshape our lives, no matter what has influenced us in the past.
