Whats Gods Will

Main Idea

One of the biggest questions teenagers ask is, "What does God want me to do with my life?" While we often think of God's will as choosing the right school, career, or future spouse, the Bible first teaches us who God wants us to become. As students learn to follow Him daily, God faithfully guides their next steps.

Key Scriptures

Micah 6:8

1 Thessalonians 4:3

1 Thessalonians 5:16–18

Proverbs 3:5–6

Matthew 6:33

Romans 12:1–2

Ephesians 2:10

What We Learned About God's Will

God's will for our lives includes:

  • Walking humbly with Him.

  • Becoming more like Jesus.

  • Choosing holiness and obedience.

  • Rejoicing, praying, and giving thanks.

  • Trusting God instead of relying only on ourselves.

  • Seeking God's Kingdom first.

  • Allowing God to transform the way we think.

  • Using our lives to do good and serve others.

Discussion Questions for Home

  1. When you were my age, what did you think God's will meant?

  2. How have you seen God guide you through important decisions?

  3. What has helped you trust God when you didn't know what the future held?

  4. Which of the scriptures from this lesson stands out to you the most? Why?

  5. What is one area where our family can seek God first this week?

Family Challenge

Choose one way to intentionally seek God's will together this week:

  • Pray together for five minutes each day.

  • Read one of the lesson passages as a family.

  • Share a time when God guided you through uncertainty.

  • Encourage each family member to identify one step of obedience they can take this week.

  • Make a list of ways your family can serve someone else.

Parent Encouragement

As parents, it can be tempting to focus on helping our children discover what they will do with their lives. Scripture reminds us that God's greatest desire is to shape who they are becoming. As our students learn to trust God, seek Him first, and walk faithfully in the small daily choices, He is more than capable of leading them into His plans for their future.

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight." — Proverbs 3:5–6

Thank you for partnering with us as we help students discover that God's will is not just about finding the right path—it's about faithfully walking with the One who leads us.
